How do we set goals? Some recommand we follow the SMART rule to set effective goals. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and time-specific.
  • Specific Have you been specific in what you want to achieve?
  • Measurable How will you know if you’ve achieved your goal?
  • Achievable Is this a goal that you can achieve?
  • Relevant Is this goal aligned with your mission, vision and values?
  • Time Specific When do you want to achieve this goal by?
(copied from http://rebekahradice.com/social-media-goals/)   Did your resolutions correspond to this criterias? Another way to plan goal is proposed in the Passion Planner. A map showing you in the middle of several goals in intermediate milestones. A interesting approach to visualize the Attainable and Relevant aspect. Many resolutions are about being more productive. The resoltuons could be to adopt new practices. Could be the Pomodoro technique of splitting tasks and time. Check their page on setting goals. Many resolutions will only hold if they become new habits. How do form habits? How do we change habits? Rebekah Radice shares 5 ways to hold resolutions using social media.
