This chat is an occasion to discover #WOL Working Out Loud from tweeps who practice it already

It is really a warming up before the two next sessions. A handshake between those who practice and those who don’t. There are no prerequisites to join. Everyone interested or already practicing can join. Questions are guiding our discovery of the topic. It’s also the occasion for those who know nothing on the topic to learn and locate tweeps who are more advanced and from whom they could learn #SocialLearning A definition of #WOL was first given by Brice Williams in 2010
Working Out Loud = Observable Work + Narrating Your Work
A definition by JohnStepper
Working out loud is an approach to work and life. It helps you achieve your goals and feel better about work while helping you discover more possibilities.
Five components of #WOL according to JohnStepper
  1. purposeful discovery
  2. relationships,
  3. generosity,
  4. visible work
  5. a growth mindset.
Combined, the five elements create a mindset —an open, generous, connected approach to work and life—that is the essence of working out loud. Questions that are often raised via JohnStepper
  • “Why would I do that?”
  • “Oh, I don’t like to toot my own horn.”
  • “Why would anyone else care?”
PKMChat being about Personal Knowledge Management encompass Knowledge lifecycle in general. Our first chat was about learning, acquiring Knowledge. Our second is about sharing it. Week after weeks we will switch from one end of the lifecycle to another while exploring all the channels that could be used: social, formal, writing, videos. Feel free to suggest topics by tweeting to @pkmchat.
This is me (Bruno Winck) preparing this topic and #PKMChat on #WOL on Google hangout, #WOl for #WOL
