Let’s chat on Recipes, one of the oldest knowledge

Gourmet time on #PKMChat! Recipes embody old knowledge from back to several thousand years. Possibly a million years ago for earliest cooking fires. Before writing humans had two main ways to preserve knowledge: stories and processes. tales are excellent to convey concepts, values and declarative knowledge. Processes excel for applicable knowledge. Short they are tips, long they become programs. In the middle we have the recipes. A lot of practices around Recipes could be applied to other fields of knowledge. How do we search for recipes? By the ingredients, by the desired outcome? by context. How do we keep the background knowledge on ingredients? How to buy them, find substitutes per season, region, diet. How to we retain recipes we did, we wish to prepare? How do we contectualize the recipes? Number of peole, taste. How do you find and learn techniques? Join and chat on recipes and gourmet side discussions. PKMChat being about Personal Knowledge Management encompass Knowledge lifecycle in general. Our first chat was about learning, acquiring Knowledge. Our second is about sharing it. Week after weeks we will switch from one end of the lifecycle to another while exploring all the channels that could be used: social, formal, writing, videos. Feel free to suggest topics by tweeting to @pkmchat.
