Moderate Follow, #FollowBack, #NoFollow

This week we are going to consider various strategy for following, listing or giving consideration on Twitter. The topic takes from a French ryhme (a comptine) for picking “Un peu, beaucoup, Ă  la folie, .. pas du tout”. The topic is inspired by various posts and conversations that took place on Twitter. #NoFollow is a movement initiated by @Elsua which tends to giving up completely on following people but instead investing time to build lists for different purposes. FollowBack consist in following almost everyone who follows you. it is best adovacted by a post from @tedCoine found below. Considerate Follow is the name I gave to excercises suggested by @JohnStepper consisting in sending signals and consideration on Twitter in view of building a network of like minded tweeps for fruitful relations. GrowthHack could be the name to give to the tactic used by marketers (links belows as well ) to build a large audience of followers. We could add Curated Follow which is the practice of building an interesting stream by carefully choosing who to follow and regularly pruning or adding people. A practice advocated by @HJarche or @janBozarth (see tweet) random is what most people do. They end up with cluttered streams and odd followers. PKMChat being about Personal Knowledge Management encompass Knowledge lifecycle in general. Our first chat was about learning, acquiring Knowledge. Our second is about sharing it. Week after weeks we will switch from one end of the lifecycle to another while exploring all the channels that could be used: social, formal, writing, videos. Feel free to suggest topics by tweeting to @pkmchat.
